If you run a business and feel that a sandwich board sign outside of your location will be effective for drawing customers in, you'll need to decide whether to buy a custom-made sign or to simply buy a plain blackboard-style sign that you can write on with chalk. Many businesses opt for the latter, and there are several advantages and disadvantages to this idea. Pro: Ability to Change the Content
The major advantage of choosing a blackboard sign is that you can change the content as frequently as you'd like. Con: No Resistance to Rain

Someone who is walking past your sign could wipe out some of the words, making the sign illegible to would-be customers. It may be a while before you notice this problem and can correct it, which can be frustrating.
